Calcutta Sterling RT 106 inaugurate 3 classrooms & a toilet block @ Haripur Atpara

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

– Nelson Mandela

The solution to the perplexing conundrum with regards to basic skill building, both soft and otherwise, lies before our naked eyes. It is with and only with something as basic as elementary education that the preadolescent and adolescent youth of our nation can lay a foundation for their skill development.

In a nation where about 31.2% of its population is up to the age of 14 years, and about 63.6% of the population can form a part of its workforce, none of us can lay enough stress on the importance of the role that education plays in creating better demographic dividends for the nation while indirectly creating a better tomorrow.

CSRT-106 is active in a state, West Bengal, which has a literacy rate of about 77%, which makes it slighter above the national average of 74%. As such, the onus lies on our Tablers to uphold the rich culture of primary education that already exists in the community.

Taking cue of our social responsibility, our Tabler Vivek Dalmia, had taken an initiative of building three new classrooms, a toilet block and two score benches in the Haripur Atpara Primary School. In what blatantly appears to be a rather small step towards playing a significant impact on education directly, we need to focus on the fact that this step helps to change the lives of 150 children every year, who in turn can change the lives of so innumerable others in not only in Haripur in the Hoogly district, but also elsewhere. The scale of the initiative amounted to around 1150 square foot, and involved a sum of about rupees twelve lakhs (Rs. 12,00,000.00). The same had left our Area Chairman Sandeep Harbahajanka, awestruck as he inaugurated the blocks on the 14th of November, 2016.

Perhaps, this is what Children’s Day is all about- giving them better future.
