Sitapur Round Table 318 – The Rajdhani Extension Express of Round Table India

I had heard a lot from my brother Tr. Nikhil, a very passionate tabler, of CSRT 17 about the beautiful world of tabling and had seen him enjoying Tabling. Going to be a part of Sitapur Round Table, I was looking forward to Tabling and witnessed a tremendous amount of positive energy in our Table during the first year. On behalf of my table, I would like to share the Facet which became our forte in the 1st year of Tabling.

SRT 318 was Chartered on 7th April, 2018 and before that we had already attended the Area 8 AGM of 2017 and participated in JAFFA, 2018.Fellowship was on in full swing. During fellowship we realized one of the most important facets of Tabling and one of its Aim and Objectives is EXTENSION.

Being in touch with the stalwarts of Tabling, we understood that more emphasis of RTI for the Extension facet is in a new Tabling Centre being created for the simple reason that a whole new demographic area will be touched.

Our passionate Charter Chairman, Tr. Ashish Kr. Singhania along with head board and our two dynamic and dedicated extension conveners, Tr. Dhruv Bhojwani and Tr. Kunal Anand started the planning of extension for 2018-19.

No one could even wildly guess what a Masterstroke it will be!

Unbelievable but its true that SRT 318 has been part of 4 extensions in 1 Tabling year.

Tables sponsored are Mirzapur Round Table 336, Rudrapur Round Table 335, Jhansi Round Table and the icing on the cake was Round Table Perth 4 which is an International Table.

MRT 336 was sponsored alone by SRT 318 while other extensions were done jointly with other tables. The International extension was done jointly by Round Table India(3 tables) and Round Table Nepal.

Mirzapur Round Table 336 (MRT 336)

MRT 336 was sponsored single handedly by SRT 318. Inauguration was done on 16th March, 2019 and the Grand Charter Ceremony was held on 15th June, 2019.Tr Shubham Agarwal, a very passionate Tabler, is the Charter Chairman.

Rudrapur Round Table 335 (RRT 335)

RRT 335 has been jointly sponsored by LMRT 255(Papa table of SRT 318) and SRT 318. Inaugurated on 23rd February,2019 followed by an amazing Charter in Corbett National Park on 4th May, 2019. Tr. Ankit Agarwal, a very enthusiastic Tabler, is the Charter Chairman.

Jhansi Round Table

Jhansi Round Table has been jointly sponsored by BLCRT 269 and SRT 318. A fantastic inauguration ceremony was held on 1st February, 2019. Table is yet to be chartered. Tr. Prashant Sharma, a very dynamic Tabler, is the inaugural Chairman.

Round Table Perth 4

The International extension was done jointly by Round Table India and Round Table Nepal. Sponsor Tables from India are DMRT 43, SCRT 89 and SRT 318. A grand and memorable Charter Ceremony was held on 26th January, 2019 and was also attended by Round Table ASPA Chairman Tr. Ranil Samarawickrema. Tr. Alistair Buchanan, a very committed tabler, is the Charter Chairman.

Our entire table would like to sincerely thank both the National Head Board led by National President,Tr. Dhruv Nidhi Dalmia and our Area 8 Head Board led by Tr. Rishabh Jain for their unstinted support. Also grateful to National Extension Conveners Tr. Anand Heda, Tr. Prahlad Kedia and  Tr. Avinash Killa. Special thanks to our very own Area 8 extension convener and AST, Tr. Khushal Bhargava for his valuable guidance.

Happy News

We are all very delighted that for the Tabling year 2019-20 our very own Tr. Ashish Kr. Singhania and Tr. Dhruv Bhojwani will be the one of the National and Area 8 Extension conveners respectively.

One of a Kind Experience

It was an amazing journey with so much of travelling and fellowship. In first year, we travelled for around 21 contact meets, 3 Super Inauguration’s and 2 Grand Charter’s across the length and breadth of Uttar Pradesh; all in different directions of Sitapur.

26 trips of around 700 km each totaling 18,200 km approximately was travelled with required quorum just for external extension of new tabling centres apart from attending every National and Area events.

Indeed, a unique achievement to add 4 new tabling centres in the very first year.

An amazing experience for all the passionate Tablers of SRT 318; which has also created a Bonding for Lifetime amongst them.

Thank you Round Table India.

As we understand, even after 65 years of independence, millions of Indian children have never, ever been to school due to poverty in our Country. Since the year 1996, Round Table India (RTI) started adopting projects, across the country, aimed at providing quality school infrastructure, and then in 1998 this project was formalised and thus born the National Project of RTI- “Freedom Through Education (FTE)”. In pursuit of educating underprivileged children RTI’s focus on infrastructure building is aimed at promoting education for posterity.

For CCRT38 and KVRT227, the School’s 2 classroom project was identified based on the fact that the oldest in the area and there were no good schools nearby.

“The best way to predict your future is to create it”-

As we all know that education is the most powerful tool that no one can steal. I still remember the first visit to the school and when the students were told that instead of learning in the hut they will now get to go to school in a pukka building . The smiles on the cute faces of children said it all. The vibrations attracted us to make a proper building so that students can study properly.

With the help of an old lady who is an IIT pass out, donated her land for the kids so that they can study and make name for our country. With her help and blessing we started this Greenfield project and looking at the need and future we started the construction. The foundation was done so that we can add two floors in the future.

Around 211 Kms from Kolkata a two and half hour drive from the city we found the school .We did  4 classrooms and a toilet block for the Students at present. The total constructed area is 3205 Sqft at an outlay of 36 Lacs. Currently there are 192 Students Studying but with the building now in place it will grow from the next sessions which happens to be in Jananuary 2020.The school authorities expect minimum growth of 75-100 Students .

The school is located at a very remote village and in the vicinity of around 4 Kms there is no school. The school takes the initiative of bringing the students from there nearby homes in tempo and dropping them too.

With loads of thanks and appreciation the locals greeted us whole heartedly. The smiles on the face of the children were a beautiful sight. Now more children can study and get a direction in their lives.

National Project Convenor Tr. Hussain Mustafa, Area 4 Chairman Tr. Manish Lakhotia, Area 4 Project Convenor Tr. Tushar Agarwal  & Tr.Abhishek Agarwal along with Tablers From RT 293 were present. We had this project jointly done with The Ladies Circle India Circlers from CCLC 27 and KKLC 147 were also there to grace the occasion

We also did a community service by distributing school bags to 192 students which was taken from Regalia.

A one month Ration was also distributed to 150 people to the local village Aadi vaasis.

“A child without education is a bird without wings”- Tibetan Proverb.

With Indians ever increasing polulation the biggest challenge and the matter of concern is to provide quality education for every child born. Though the Indian government has been partially successful in increasing the literacy rate percentage however there still exits a major gap. Indias majority population lives in rural and yet there are countless villages where the children are not even getting the basic education properly. Illiteracy is a self fulfilling curse that perpetuates the chain of pverty, degradation and child labour. Round Table India has very well taken this initiative to reach out to these areas where the goverment is yet to lay its eyes upon.

The Victorians too after having collected enough funds through fund raising projects took the initative of building 4 more classrooms at the school. The total area constructed was 2200 sq ft. Around 450 children will be benefitted from this project. The total cost of the project was 24 lakhs.

Absence of any good school nearby there was urgent need for a project like this.

With loads of thanks and appreciation the locals greeted us whole heartedly. The smiles on the face of the children was a beautiful sight. Now more children can study and get a direction in their lives.

National Project Convenor Tr. Ajmal, Incoming Area 4 Chairman Tr. Jeet, Area 4 Chairman Tr. Manish Lakhotia, Area 4 Project Convenor Tr. Tushar Agarwal along with Kvrt 227 members, Circlers, Twinklers were present.

We also did a small Non fte project in the school by distributing school bags to the children.

A Token of Appreciation was given by the Kvrt 227 Chairman Tr. Ayush to all the dignitories.  A glorious first half of the day was well spent. True to the defination of the word pure team work we Victorians embarked on yet another journey in the persuit of education the underpriviledged.

3 Classroom FTE block by Hubli Accent Round Table 153

Hubli Accent Round Table 153 constructed FTE School Block of 3 Classrooms at Sri Gangadhar English Medium High School, Noolvi and the same was inaugurated on 15th June’19 benefiting 947 under privileged Children.

The Only English Medium School in the Village and Surrounding – Shri Gangadhar English Medium High School, Noolvi was in immediate need of classrooms. This school is situated in a village which is 21 kms from Hubli & the only English medium school in the nearby surrounding. Presently there are 947 children studying & majority of these children are under privileged who belong to the farmers/farm workers community.

The school was managing with only 15 classrooms out of which 3 Classrooms were constructed by us last Year under the RTIT FTE Grant. The School authority requested us to build additional 3 more classrooms to meet the requirements. Basic infra & amenities is a right of every student & we at HART 153 believe & strongly endorse that view.  Now is the time to provide better infra & ambiance for our next gen to provide quality education more effectively even from a school situated in a remote village.

Thanks to RTIT for considering this project initiated by HART 153. 03 new class rooms were built at a total outlay of Rs.24,80,000/-. The quality of these newly built classrooms has been the highlight of the project, which has been highly appreciated by the school authorities, Gram Panchayat & by the RTI area dignitaries present during the inauguration ceremony.

These classrooms are equipped with fans, LED tube lights, green boards with vitrified flooring.

We are sure 947 students stand to benefit hugely in the days & years to come as shortage of classrooms will never be an obstacle for them from now on.

School Children & staff were overwhelmed to witness such high quality class rooms. They have been lauding the efforts of Round Table India in ensuring their mission of Freedom through Education.

The Area Chairman Tr. Sai Madhukar Rathi and many other table chairmen graced us with their presence and made this proud moment for us even more creditable. Together we felt solidarity and brotherhood in providing facilities for the deserving students of the school.
The project was funded by:
P&G Shiksha
HORT 212
The inauguration was followed by a group lunch in true tabling style where we exchanged ideas and notes on prospective projects for the future.

Lucknow ROund Table 136 and Lucknow ladies Circle 84 host 2 mega Fundraising events to help the Lesser Privileged

A very must pillar for RoundTable. We all know that Round Table does not
appreciate much the cheque book fundraising. Thus the concept becomes of
utmost importance. Tablings heart is fellowship and soul is giving back
to society.
I am honoured that a superbly enigmatic Table 136 has given me
opportunity to be fundraising Convenor for year 17-18 and 18-19. LRT136
is being identified at lot of forums as ³Panache² table. Its our
legendary fund raiser and its supposedly the single largest for Area8.
Year on year its popularity is increasing and so are the challenges. But
this is what keeps us on our toes…almost full first quarter of the
tabling year goes in planning and executing Panache. This year we came
up with yet another fundraiser….a Golf Tournament…²Lucknow Masters Golf
Tournament². The response has been good and we at 136 will make it our
second annual fundraiser. Both our fundraisers are of different genres
and thus gives an opportunity for all Tablers to get involved. My personal aim is to raise 40 lacs in a year for the cause and hope to do
it this year.

Just want to conclude by saying to all my fellow Tablers that fundraisers
give lot of opportunity for fellowships and once u sweat out together then the bond is stronger and deeper.

Massive Go Green Projects by all Round Tables from Area 8

Going Green!

YEAR – 2018-19

CHAIRMAN – LMF Tr Rishabh Jain

“With melting snow,

Increase Sea,

One day will come, when everything will sink,

How can we save all let’s just think,

The answer is GO-GREEN…..GO-GREEN…”

With these thoughts Area 8 started their Go Green campaign for 2018-19. We cannot thank enough National Team for bringing front such a beautiful convenorship. It is the only convenorship wherein when you perform you not only give back to Mother Nature but also securing a good life for yourself and for the generations to come in.

When I was appointed as Area 8 Go Green Convenor, intentions were clear to make every table perform. Being a new convenorship, I had no one from whom I can take or exchange ideas. I would like to thank our Area Chairman for always giving me the liberty to work in my ways.

We had a whooping start to Go Green. In first quarter itself 11 out of 18 tables performed beautifully. In specific 15th August was celebrated as Go Green by all the tables. We covered a beautiful event across Area 8 in which:

  • Chairman of all tables identified one convenor for the event
  • Convenor had to distribute saplings to all tablers before 15th August
  • Tablers at their own discretion can pay any amount for the sapling (if at all they want). All fund generated will be used for Community Service by the table
  • Each tabler had to sow that seed with their children on 15th August and share the photo of event with their Table Secretaries
  • All tables can then share the collage of this activity done by their tablers,
  • In this event, we covered 3 main aspects of tabling: Go Green Initiative, Community Service Fund Generation and Twinklers activity.

Apart from that some of the major events that got covered in 1st Qaurter:

  • Bareilly Round Table 45 distributed indoor plants to all the tablers for their offices and residence. Not only these plants keep oxygen level high indoors but also deliver a sense of caring. Thus making us a little ‘more’ human.
  • Kanpur Cosmopolitan Round Table 111 distributed seeds and plants to all tablers of KCRT 111. Extending the cause, they also distributed plants to all students in their FTE School and plantation was done in school premises too. Students were also explained benefits of plantation and asked them to spread awareness regarding clean and green Kanpur. All tablers planted their plants / seeds with their twinklers. Thereby spreading awareness to all twinklers too.
  • Kanpur Heritage Round Table 125, Varanasi Round Table 196, Varanasi Royals Round Table 218 did plantation of saplings in the school. They explained students the importance of plantation and how necessary it is now to take strong steps towards GOING GREEN.
  • Lucknow Round Table 136 did plantation of 100 saplings on 15th August at required places in Lucknow. 1 Tree grown saves many lives. Kudos to LRT 136 for making it 100 times more. On the birthdays of tablers, a gift of a sapling is sent and in return the “birthday boy” plants it and posts pictures on Social Medias. This is to create more awareness and inspire more and more people to plant saplings.
  • Varanasi Royals Round Table 218 went step ahead and got their twinklers involved in Go Green Activity. They named it ‘SEED THROWING PROJECT’. In this, twinklers sprinkled seeds in bulk thereby aiding high yielding rate. Twinklers learnt how trees are important for our environment and ecological balance.
  • LMRT 255 had something else in bag to offer Mother Nature. Use of poly bags is a big menace for the life system. Poly bag does not get decomposed for thousands of years. Thousand of stray animals die eating those poly bags. Biggest of drainage systems choke because of these poly bags. Tablers of LMRT 255 distributed BROWN PAPER Bags with RTI BRANDING to create awareness about using organic bags and discouraging the use of plastics. All vendors benefitted vowed to stop using plastic bags from immediate bags.
  • Varanasi Elite Round Table 278 planted 8000 plants in a village. With 8000 plants at a stretch, VERT 278 broke all barriers of going Green. A task of such magnitude needs intention and great efforts.
  • Shahjahanpur Round Table 298 initiated the ‘IMPORTANT DATES GO GREEN CONCEPT’. Under this they are gifting a sapling to tablers on every important dates like Birthday,  Anniversaries, Twinklers Birthday or be it any family member important dates as well.
  • Sitapur Round Table 318 distributed saplings to tablers and their family on Independence Day for growing them in their kitchen, garden or be it anywhere and taking care of it till they start bearing fruits. The one with the best plant and fruits will win the competition. This will generate an extra sense of caring for what tablers planted thereby giving a high yielding rate.
  • Moradabad Round Table 319 planted 500 trees in a village called Awganpur involving the local authority gram panchayat on government land. The village has strength of 4000 people approx.

With so much happening under Go Green in Area 8, National declared a dedicated day in RTI Week for Go Green. 12 out of 18 tables performed exceptionally well in RTI Week. All the tablers did actrivities in their own unique ways thus making it a great success.

Till date Area 8 has made:

₹ 1,71,800.00 64,320

That is the beauty of events covered under Go Green, with least investment you get the maximum number of people benefitted.

I am sure with such response and fact sheet we have a long way to go under ‘GO GREEN’. We the round tablers have always benefitted the society in way or other. It is time to go beyond that.
