AUTO SHOW 2016 – SALEM ROUND TABLE 28’S BIGGEST FUNDRAISER AND PUBLICITY EVENT – A MEGA SUCCESS
Salem Round Table 28 has dabbled with many ideas with regard to fundraising over the years. One idea that struck gold was the Auto Show 2014. In an attempt to make it a constant affair for Salem Round Table 28, the team came together to host and conduct Auto Show 2016, held at Deiveegam Mandapam on 16th, 17th and the 18th of September 2016.
More than 30 brands of automobiles participated and the event was backed by IIFL as the title sponsor. The event was to be kick started by an automobile rally. However, the recent unrest across borders of TN and Karnataka over the Cauvery river issue brought a hitch to the planned flag off on 16th morning. After consultation with senior officials, the event was inaugurated at 5 PM in the evening by the esteemed Commissioner of Police, Salem, Mr. Sanjay Kumar. Mr. A Vijuvin the Divisional Commercial Manager of Southern Railways, Salem Division humbled us with his presence as Guest of Honour.
This generated huge publicity for RTI as the inauguration was covered well by the Press and an Article with pictures featured in all the leading newspapers. To adhere to the National initiative we kept all the main Branding as Round Table India – Auto Show 2016 thus giving more importance to brand Round Table India rather than our own Table name.
The moment of tabling pride was witnessing the entire Area 7 headboard, together, standing with us to lend their best wishes for the event. Team Salem Round Table 28 couldn’t have asked for a better start!
The event recorded 8811 footfalls over 2.5 days. The participating companies expressed extreme satisfaction over the arrangements and the response from the walk-ins. 13 Cars and 13 Bike sales were reported and over a 100 convertible enquirers, which marked the success of the event.
Every Tabler of 28 contributed in ways big and small and stood united in their white shirt and Nehru jacket at the opening ceremony. It is needless to mention the power of men working hand in hand and the success it brings to any event like the Auto Show 2016!

II PRAKRUTHI DEVO BHAVA II
Hospet Round Table celebrated our Heritage through a Fund Raiser by promoting Eco Friendly Clay Ganapathi Idols – The Pot Bellied & Elephant Faced God, on the eve of Ganesha Festival, which was on Sep 5th. These idols were truly fit to be worshipped as these were prepared from the components of the Divine Nature – clay, mud, etc, without using non degradable materials like POP ( Plaster of Paris ) and chemical paints & colours. In addition to this, more stress was given to use of natural flowers or other organic materials for decoration, as these will be easily decomposed. As a part of Go Green Initiation, the buyers were given free vegetable seeds.
Prior to Ganesha Festival, these idols were placed at leading counters like M/S Prabhat General Stores, M/S Arya Super Market, M/S R.S.Department for sale & the price was fixed Rs.250 per idol. Promo regarding Eco Friendly Ganapathi were aired in all the local channels. Many Tables came forward to buy idols. HRT Team never stopped their effort till all the idols were liquidated.

KABAALI FUNDRAISER AT 77
On the 22nd of July, Vizag round table 77 had a movie fund raiser after a long time to raise funds for RTI’s Freedom through education.
Freedom through education is a long term project of Round Table India, wherein schools or classrooms in existing schools are built by tables across India for underprivileged children. This worthy cause is supported by funds raised by the tables by doing movie premiers, musical shows, exhibitions etc and every penny raised is used to build schools rather than using a part of the funds for administration purposes, therein lies the beauty of such fund raisers. The project is also funded in part by our partners for the cause like Procter and Gamble, Oracle etc.
Tablers and ladies of VRT-77 booked off a whole theater featuring the most sought after movie KABAALI starring Rajinikanth and the tickets were sold at a premium rate since it was the day of the movie got released and screened exclusively for the donors who bought the tickets. 400 tickets were sold off in just 3 days!!!
There was good publicity of RTI in the movie theater in the form of banners and standees publicizing round table India and its activities.
A decent fundraiser in terms of profits, greater was the camaraderie of tablers and ladies for a good cause, and please dont ask about the movie!!!! Heard out side after the movie. We should have opened a stall with a doctor outside, who would prescribe headache medicines and raise even more funds 😉
God bless 77 with more Kabaalis 🙂
