Policemen are generally never recognized for their brilliant efforts except for the Govt Awards.
But Recognition by the Tablers and Public definitely makes a difference to them as they get to know what people think and care about them too.

BRT 7 & BLC 19 – Publicity Report on “Knights in Khaki”
Knights in Khaki, is one of the very special projects for the year 2011-2012 jointly hosted by BRT 7 and LC 19. The objective is to recognize the efforts of the front line soldiers of the city police hierarchy. They are our unsung heroes whose work goes unrecognized in the swift progression of life.
The office of the police commissioner of Bangalore was contacted and the project proposal given to them. Under the nomination of the commissioner, the joint commissioner City armed reserve, called for a list of deserving candidates from the various sub divisions. The list included front line police personnel such as Police constables, senior and head constables and Assistant sub Inspector levels. From a list comprising over a 100 personnel,
21 were selected representing three from each subdivision.
There were 6 ladies and 15 men police personnel. Their contributions ranged from helping in busting drug rackets, car thefts, dowry harassment and even solving murders.
They were given rewards and gifts in the form of home appliances including mixers, grinders and utensils. They were felicitated by the police commissioner himself in front of their families. The awardees were truly touched and the Commissioner sincerely appreciated the whole effort.
The event was conducted on the 19th December 2011 at The Chancery.The felicitation was followed by a high tea attended by over 100 people.
The dignitaries include the Commissioner of Police, Jyothiprakash Mirji & Joint Comm.City Armed Reserve BNS Reddy , Mr Raja and Mr. Suchindra of Raja housing pvt. Ltd., LC India President Aditi Rao, RTI .NST Tr.Harish Shenoy. Also present were Area 6 Chairman Tr.Mukesh Lund , Area 6 Chairperson Cr.Neetha Kushallappa & National HRD Convener Kajol Bhatia, National Project Convener Cr. Bhavna Anegundi.They were supported by several Circlers and Tablers who attended the function.
The Commissioner in his speech expressed his gratitude towards our organization for this specific endeavour. He went on to appreciate the generosity with which we, as an organization give back to society. The joint Commissioner while acknowledging the noble causes supported by Round Table, mentioned that having been blessed to belong to that priviledged part of the society which does not have financial burdens, we constitute a small percentage that makes the effort to make a difference. President LC India thanked the police force for working tirelessly towards making Bangalore city one of the safest cities to live in today.
The event received wide publicity and coverage in various newspapers such as Times of India, Kannada Prabha, etc and was also broadcasted in television networks like TV9.

This project was only possible because of the teamwork of BRT 7 and BLC 19 under the able leadership of Chairman Vishwas and Chairperson Kavitha. It was a fantastic experience to be anchoring such a mega event together. The confidence shown by our teammates in us to undertake and represent this noble cause was truly inspiring. The whole gamut of emotions one experiences goes towards making you wiser, humbler and more thankful for everything.
