100 tree saplings were planted by RSRT 158 on the side of Srivilliputhur Highway, Sivakasi on 17th October 2008.The project was under taken jointly with Sivakasi Velayutha Rastha Civic Exnora and the Students Exnora Wing of Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College, Sivakasi,as part of the project to reduce Global Warming. It is proposed to plant another 100 saplings in Pallapatti area, Sivakasi very soon taking the total to 200. RSRT menbers also participated in the project of The Exnora Students Wing of AJ College who planted 100 saplings. The students had dug the 100 pits for the saplings by themselves.
It was a very satisfying moment to take a pledge to grow trees and protect our environment by all present there.Click below to view the video of the pledge.
