Inauguration of Midterm Meet – ‘Ootyil Looty’ , Area 1 & 7

The Midterm Meet (for the year 2008-09) will be hosted by TRT 54 (jointly with TLC 33) at Ooty. This MTM has been aptly named “Ootyil Looty”. The event was inaugrated by Tr. Alexander (AIPC/IRO) and Tr. Raja (Chairman, TRT 54).

The Midterm Meet Convenor Tr. Ramesh (TRT 54) has confirmed the venue and dates for the event. It’ll be held at “Holiday Inn Gem Park” on Feb 21 & 22, 2009. And, as per our tradition, it’ll be held jointly with Area 7. That means… close to 500 people in one spot. Wow!

City Tables of Hubli Meet – Bollywood Masala

City tables of Hubli organized thematic fellowship BOLLYWOOD MASALA 20^th Sept at Hotel Naveen.

All four tables of Hubli participated in this event. Our Area X Chairman Tr Abdul Sadiq as Guest, AVC Tr Bipin Mirajkar & AST Tr Ravi as guest of honor graced this occasion.

Event was planned just 10 days before & IPP Tr Ajay Handa brain stormed this idea of Bollywood Masala.

Venue was beautifully set with a nice colorful backdrop. As usual crowd started walking in only by 930pm all in relaxed weekend mood. Started off with Joint meeting later AC launched Golden Fellowship cup an intra table cup in HRT 37 & HKRT 178.

We also launched Area fellowship basket, colorful basket was handover to HKRT 178. We briefed on how the basket should move & asked HKRT 178 to go to any other place outside Hubli & have a joint fellowship.

Now it was turn for the event for which all were waiting. Every table was given one movie name & asked to perform for 10 mins.

HRT 37 was  first to perform & movie was SHOLAY. Tablers/Circler dress up was ultimate & every scene had resemblance to the movie. Its was all more fun when they had to add some dialogue’s relevant to tabling. Table no 420 was formed & Gabbar Singh was charter chairman.

HART 153 performed next & their movie was PADOSON. Tr Anand & Sq Leg DK performed exactly like how Kishore Kumar & Mehamood had acted. Tr Kumar as Bola added humor to the skit.

 

 HCRT 142 Salam Namaste was highlight of the evening. HT Amit Sanghavi snatched everybody concentration, every dialogue was well versed, you know “EGGACTLY”.

HERA PHERI was performed by HKRT 178, Tr Anand as Paresh Rawal did a marvelous job along with Tr.Sachin .T as Sunil Shetty and Tr.Prashant as Akshay Kumar.

Tablers also gave the characters a complete look alike to the movie artists All audience were thrilled & enjoyed every moment of this event. It was just FUN FUN & FUN.

Our Guest, Guest of honor & their spouse were Judges for the evening.

IPP Tr Ajay Handa was judged as best dressed male tabler ,

Cr Sonali Mehta as best dressed circler,

Tr Nitish Naik & Cr Smitha As best dressed Couple.

Off course they had dressed as per the theme.

Time was up & all waiting courisoly for prizes & as anticipated

HCRT 142 (Thanx to HT AMIT) was judged as best Skit of the evening. HART 153 won the 2^nd prize

HRT 37 & HKRT 178 got consolation prizes.

Gift Vouchers were given as prizes & tables are asked to buy items for supply house & can redeem these vouchers.

Thanks to the chairman’s & FC of city tables for giving a memorable event.

RTI Open Golf @ Mysore

Dear Friends,

Warm Greetings and Good Wishes to you!

Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club (JWGC), Mysore Race Club and Mysore Round Table�21(MRT-21) have come together to organize a ‘Skins format’ charity golf tournament in Mysore for the second successive year. The funds raised will be shared by JWGC, MRC and MRT-21 towards their caddies fund, eye hospital and education projects respectively.

The Structure of the Tournament:

An interesting feature of this tournament is that a group of 4 players will play amongst each other for a prize, called "skin", at each of the 18 holes. There will be totally 648 such skins in this tournament to be taken away! These apart, there are trophies for Stable ford net and gross and many other special prizes. The Tournament will conclude with the gala dinner party. Along with the participating golfers and their spouses, the evening fanfare will have participation of the non-golfing elite of Mysore.

It shall be our pleasure to have the Golfers within the Tabling fraternity being part of this tournament.

Mark of Honour – Area 6

Dear Friends,

Last Sunday, 21st September 2008, Area 6 organized a felicitation program for Uma taking over as the National President of Ladies Circle India and for me taking over as the Vice President of Round Table India.

The event was held at Hotel JP Churchill, Bangalore.

Our Area Chairman, Naveen Pishe put in a lot of effort along with the Tablers of Bangalore to put this grand event up.

The event was called – "Mark of Honour".

The theme for the event was – "Colours of the Ocean". The entire venue was decorated with blue and white balloons along with sea shells with blue lighting which gave the venue a perfect look.

The Highlight of the event was that for the first time in the history of Area 6, A joint meeting of ALL the 10 tables of Bangalore as well as ALL the 8 circles of Bangalore was held.

Our National President, Tr. Pranay Trivedi was present to grace the afternoon.

Tablers and Circlers of Area 6 felicitated Uma and me in the most touching way by showing presentations on our tabling and personal life and crowning us.

The Brand Ambassador of Round Table India – Mr. R.K.Misra was the chief guest for the function and he gave an inspirational speech to all the Tablers and Circlers present on why one should take leadership positions in life.

Ace Cricket Commentrator, Charu Sharma was honoured with FORT and even he spoke kind words about Round Table.

We had the gracious presence of Past President, Drin and HRD Guru, Ram Seshu along with Past Ladies Circle International President, Cr. Ashwini and Past Ladies Circle India President, Cr. Sharmila Shanmugam. The 4 of them did a chat show talking about leadership in Round Table and Ladies Circle and encouraging tablers and circlers to take leadership positions.

Also present were Past Presidents of Round Table India, R.Girish and Manoj Nair on this occassion.

The Tablers of Area 6 had arranged for some games to be played after the formal function got over and there were live singers to entertain the crowd.

A big thanks and Hats off to Naveen and his team from Area 6 to organise such an amazing event and heart touching event. His efforts of promoting leadership through this event in Area 6 is commendable.

I am sure he will have a lot to add to what I have written and he will share some photos also with all of you of the event.
